Paperclip is a location-based item trading app available on Android; simply take a picture of an item that you don't want and within seconds you're browsing other people's items in your area and proposing to swap.

FEATURES
- GET WHAT YOU WANT: Get rid of your underused, under-appreciated and unwanted items and swap them for things that you actually want! Either browse the feed to view items around you to make an offer, or simply list your item and wait for the offers to come in.
- SWAPPING COMMUNITIES: Want to trade within just your circle of friends or colleagues? Assign a unique hashtag to your item (eg; #BloombergLondon). Others will be able to browse items on this hashtag, creating a pool of items available to your desired community (could be your football team, work, family or friends for example!)
- TRADE YOUR WAY UP: See how far you can get by starting with any item (such as an old bike), and swapping with others around you - you never know how far you can get in just 10 trades. Search for 'one red paperclip' for an inspirational example.
- REMOVE CLUTTER: Even if you just want to get rid of something (like an old wardrobe); post it on Paperclip and see what people are willing to swap for it! You could even give it away free, but you might as well see if you can get something in return!
- BUILD YOUR PROFILE: Leave ratings and feedback for successful swaps. On each user profile is an average rating and trade count.
- NEGOTIATE WITH OTHER TRADERS: Use the secure in-app messaging function to chat with other traders to arrange delivery (either by meeting up, escrow, or via mail), and negotiate a better swap!
- SECURE TRADING: All traders are verified via social media, with the number of mutual friends visible on their profile.
- TRACK YOUR FAVOURITES: Like an item but have nothing to trade right now? Add it to your favourites list and come back to it later. Just make sure someone doesn't swap it in the meantime!
